Meta Announces “Vibes,” a Video Feed Consisting Only of AI Videos

Meta has added a brand-new feed called Vibes to its AI application. Vibes is composed solely of short videos generated by artificial intelligence—essentially an AI TikTok.

Meta, one of the foremost companies in artificial intelligence, has made a completely unexpected announcement. The company has introduced a brand-new video feed called “Vibes.” This video feed will be accessible through the company’s AI application, “Meta AI.”

What is Vibes?

Vibes arrives as a feature that nobody asked for and may draw negative reactions from users. Simply put, it’s a video feed containing short videos created by artificial intelligence. You can think of it as an AI TikTok or Instagram Reels.

Vibes Allows Creating and Sharing Short AI Videos

With Vibes, users can utilize AI to create TikTok or Instagram-like short videos and share them with each other. It is, in effect, a short video feed designed exclusively for AI videos. All videos you encounter in Vibes will be the product of AI. The AI videos shared in Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement serve as an example of this.

According to Meta, users will see videos from both content creators and other users in the new feed. Over time, Meta’s algorithm will also begin to show personalized videos tailored to the user. In other words, it will function like a social media platform filled with AI videos.

Users will have the option to create a video from scratch or remix an existing video. Edits such as adding new visuals, changing music, and altering styles can be made to the video. In addition to the Vibes feed, these videos can also be shared on Instagram and Facebook. It is worth noting that Meta has partnered with AI companies like Midjourney and Black Forest Labs for Vibes. Furthermore, Meta’s own AI models are also being utilized.

It remains to be seen how positive the user reception for Vibes will be. Many people have been bothered by the abundance of AI videos on social media. Due to this, we speculate that not many people will actively want an AI-generated TikTok. Indeed, most of the comments under the announcement post consist of phrases like, “Nobody asked for this.” We will wait and see what happens.
